One more month left of 2025 and I am exactly $121.99 away from my goal of earning $2,000 in dividends from my ETF portfolio! I’m cutting it very fine but firmly believe that I will achieve my goal.
This month I made $126.17 from my monthly paying ETFs and in December I will have the monthlies paying AND maybe SCHD will pay out too. I say maybe because the broker who I hold SCHD with in Australia (NAB) takes their time paying out international dividends. So yes SCHD will pay out but whether or not I receive that dividend in December is up to NAB.
ETF Dividend Payments in November
November was the monthlies minus the ultra high dividend paying, vanishing value ETF MSTY. While I’m glad to be rid of it, I now have to increase the monthly payers by about $20 to make up for the missed MSTY dividends.
JPEQ paid out $49.58, FEPI distributed $41.03, HYLD sent out $2.02, and QQQI gave me $33.54, which is a total of $126.17 for the month of November.
So, like I said, all that matters in December is $122 worth of dividends! Then I’ll celebrate my first big goal with a luxury holiday around the world for a month! No, just kidding, but I might treat myself out to a nice Mexican or Thai meal. And I’ll continue to reinvest and grow the ETF portfolio as quickly as possible.
This time last year the portfolio made $77.47 in dividends for the month of November which is a 62% increase YoY (year on year).
The rolling 6 month, monthly dividend payment was $186.83 last month. It has increased by a tiny $3.04 per month to $189.87. It’s not as big an increase as I would like but it’s so much better than the $3.93 decrease that I had last month!
The ETF Dividend Portfolio for November
This month the ETF dividend portfolio has decreased to $34,424 down from $34,523 in October which is a decrease of about $99. New contributions were $593.64, so Mr Market has actually taken about $692 from the portfolio for the month. Let’s hope the much talked about Santa rally helps me out in December.
I added 4 shares to JEPQ (listed as JPEQ in Australia) as I have decided to definitely keep the ETF. I increased QQQI with $252.62, added $62.97 to HYLD, and bought $26.72 worth of ATEC (Australian technology ETF).
Just as a note, the ticker symbols ending in .AX are Australian listed ETFs and those without them are US listed ETFs. The US listed prices and average cost per share are in US dollars but everything else like market value and total dividend income are in Australian dollars.
Here’s what the ETF portfolio looked like at the end of November 2025…

What to Expect in December
I’ll buy 5 or 10 shares of SCHD before it goes ex-dividend as the plan is to own more shares every quarter.
The remaining buys will probably be monthly paying ETFs as I want to make sure that I earn more than $122 in December to achieve my $2,000 dividend goal for the year.
Hopefully I can also add to some of my quarterly paying ETFs like IVV, VHY and VGS which will be paying out in January.
