Markets generally moved up and to the right in June and the ETF portfolio is now very close to reaching $30,000. I haven’t decided how I will celebrate but I will treat myself as I think it’s important to acknowledge our achievements. Every $10,000 increase in value is a big deal for the ETF portfolio as it is still pretty new.
I would like to celebrate with a Porsche but I’ll probably have to settle for buying Turkish or Mexican for dinner. Maybe it’ll be a Porsche when I hit $3,000,000 in value!
ETF Dividend Payments in June
June was just the monthly paying ETFs and did not include SCHD as the broker that I buy those shares with takes their time paying them! NAB bank, pull your finger out when it comes to international dividends. CBA bank pays international dividends out straight away, why does it take you two weeks or more?!!!
So unless NAB sorts their sh*t out, SCHD dividends will be paid in the Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct payment cycle instead of the Dec, Mar, Jun, Sept cycle. I know it shouldn’t be an issue but I’m trying to spread payment times out and I liked that the Schwab ETF paid out on different months to the other quarterly payers.
JPEQ paid out $57.80, FEPI performed well again with $36.02, MSTY sent $30.53 my way, and QQQI gave me $23.62, which is a total of $147.97 for the month of June. I might even reach my $2000 dividend goal for the year with this portfolio.
This time last year the portfolio made $29.64 in dividends for the month of June which is a 399% increase YoY (year on year). Oh yeah.
The rolling 6 month, monthly dividend payment was $138.37 last month. It has grown by $9.41 per month to $147.78. That’s very close to my goal of increasing dividends by at least $10 per month.
The ETF Dividend Portfolio for June
This month the ETF dividend portfolio has increased to $29,593 up from $27,180 in May which is an increase of about $2,413. New contributions were $1,859 which means that the market has helped out by about $554 in June. I’m always happy when the market helps with the heavy lifting.
I added the usual five JPEQ shares this month and I now own 105 of them. I also added a couple of VGS (Vanguard World), three QQQI shares which is becoming a habit, the usual five IVV (S&P 500) shares for the quarter, and some ATEC (Australian tech companies).
AND.. I have gone to the dark side and bought a super-high dividend paying YieldMax ETF. Just to make things more crazy it is MSTY which uses the leveraged Bitcoin play MicroStrategy MSTR (now just called Strategy) founded by Michael J. Saylor to produce an options income North of 100%. This is definitely not a recommendation and I probably shouldn’t be touching it myself, but I just want to see how this thing plays out. I plan to add a few more shares of MSTY each month until I reach about $5,000 worth.
Just as a note, the ticker symbols ending in .AX are Australian listed ETFs and those without them are US listed ETFs. The US listed prices and average cost per share are in US dollars but everything else like market value and total dividend income are in Australian dollars.
Here’s what the ETF portfolio looked like at the end of June 2025…

What to Expect in July
I don’t think I’ll be adding as much to the ETF portfolio in July. I’ll probably just add to the monthly paying ETFs JEPQ, QQQI and MSTY.
The plan is to focus more on individual Australian stocks for the September and October dividend payments. I’m always trying to add more stocks between every dividend payment from as many positions as possible. I don’t share my Australian stocks portfolio online but some of the larger positions I own include JB Hi-fi, Nick Scali, Aristocrat Leisure, REA and Ventia Services Group.
How has your freedom making machine been going this year? What’s your 6 month rolling monthly dividend average for your ETFs? (total dividends paid over the last 6 months, divided by 6 equals your average).
